The Hive

Bullet Trains, Flying Bikes and Umbrellas, Oh My!

Video: Slate readers’ best and wildest ideas on how to fix our cities.

When Tom Vanderbilt put the call out for ideas on how to create “Nimble Cities“—aka, how to decongest our clogged urban passages—we had no idea what would come back to us. After sifting through hundreds of proposed remedies, we can safely say that some of you may have missed your calling as urban planners, and others as writers of science fiction.

As our series draws to a close, Vanderbilt and Slate V have produced a video showcasing the most popular ideas you submitted on how to tame traffic and make it easier for people to move in and around the world’s growing cities.
