In the Dec. 16 edition of "The Slatest," Jessica Loudis mistakenly described a CNN report as saying that Sen. Joe Lieberman was considering a presidential bid in 2012. The CNN article referred only to Lieberman's possible re-election bid for the Senate.

In the Dec. 15 "Politics," Christopher Beam misidentified House Republican Whip Eric Cantor as the House minority speaker.

In the Dec. 14 "Moneybox," Daniel Gross mistakenly wrote that Korean Air ordered five Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental jetliners for about $1.5 billion each. The total order was $1.5 billion.

Because of an editing error, the Dec. 14 "Politics" stated the wrong year for the presidential election victory of Whig Party candidate Zachary Taylor.

In the Dec. 12 "Big Idea," Jacob Weisberg misspelled Jon Kyl's first name.

In the Dec. 12 "Explainer," the name of Venango Country, Penn., was mispelled.

In the Dec. 11 "Transport," Tom Vanderbilt misspelled Bill Haley's last name.

An "Explainer" column first published in 2006, and reprinted on Dec. 10, asserted that the state of Nebraska insists on electrocution for its death-row inmates. That is no longer the case.
