Corrections

In the Nov. 24 "Explainer," Tom Bartlett misspelled the name of actress Hilary Swank.

The Nov. 18 "Culture Gabfest," both in the article text and in the podcast, misstated a few of the details of an offer for a free audiobook from Audible.com. The free book giveaway is limited to those who are not currently Audible members, and it is limited to one book per customer.

If you believe you have found an inaccuracy in a Slate story, please send an e-mail to , and we will investigate. General comments should be posted in "The Fray," our reader discussion forum.
