Washington-area sniper John Allen Muhammad will be executed Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. (Update: Virginia executed Muhammad at 9:06 p.m. Tuesday.) In the fall of 2002, Muhammad and his accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, killed 10 people and wounded three others in a series of attacks in the D.C. metropolitan area. Sean Hemmerle of Contact Press Images photographed each crime scene from two points of view: the snipers' vantage point (on the left) and the place where the victim fell (on the right).

Great photos. I was surprised to see an agent with long hair worn loose. I have long hair, and it's a nuisance for seeing what I'm doing when playing sports or even gardening. Should that agent be called on to do something in motion her (or his) line of sight could be impaired. Seems odd.

I've always wondered why they wear suits. I understand that it's a sort of authority/intimidation statement, but other law enforcement and/or military branches make that statement with clothes that look a lot more flexible. Like if you suddenly had to burst into a run and dive on top of someone, would you want to be wearing a suit and dress shoes?
