In the Oct. 24 "Sports Nut," Eriq Gardner originally misstated the value of Win Shares, a baseball statistic invented by Bill James. Each Win Share represents one-third of a team win.

In the Oct. 24 "War Stories," Fred Kaplan originally stated that after soldiers called in air support, planes dropped bombs on a building in Sadr City, Baghdad. In fact, helicopters shelled the building.

In the Oct. 22 "Culturebox," Patrick Radden Keefe originally stated that characters in Ben Affleck's Gone Baby Gone appeared to have cleft palates; they appeared to have cleft lips.

In the Oct. 22 "Dilettante," Stephen Metcalf misspelled the title of the Van Morrison song "Linden Arden Stole the Highlights."

In the Oct. 19 "Other Magazines," Brad Flora misstated the name of Jessica Wolpaw Reyes.

In the Oct. 18 "Explainer," Michelle Tsai incorrectly said it was illegal to home-brew beer and wine until 1978. In practice, winemaking was allowed even during Prohibition.

In the Oct. 15 "Fighting Words," Christopher Hitchens misattributed a quote from George Bernard Shaw as being from Ernest Hemingway.
