In image No. 9 of the Oct. 12, "Today's Pictures" gallery, Magnum Photos incorrectly wrote that Charlie Greene was the winner of the 100-meter race. Greene was the bronze medalist in that event.

In an Oct. 10 item in "Human Nature," William Saletan originally said that 22 percent of the influence on children's picky eating comes from "raising genetically similar kids in different households, so parenting style might make a difference." This was incorrect. The 22 percent influence comes from differences in environmental factors between individuals who share the same household. (See this Fray thread posted by Mangar.)

In an Oct. 8 "Trailhead" entry, Christopher Beam mistakenly identified a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee as Sen. Ben Nelson. It was Sen. Bill Nelson.
