In the Aug. 17 "Movies," Dana Stevens originally said The Invasion is the third movie based on Jack Finney's novel. It is the fourth.

In the Aug. 16 "War Stories," about Rudy Giuliani's essay in Foreign Affairs, Fred Kaplan originally stated that the aerospace industry is already building cargo-transport planes. However, Giuliani cited in-flight refueling tankers, not cargo-transport planes.

In the Aug. 15 "Explainer," Christopher Beam mistakenly referred to bromide as a metal. It is an ion of bromine, which is a halogen, not a metal.

In the Aug. 15 "Foreigners" column, Shmuel Rosner incorrectly stated that Jordan was Iraq's eastern neighbor. Jordan is to the west of Iraq.

In the Aug. 15 "Today's Blogs," Michael Weiss misspelled the name of Will Bunch's blog, Attytood.

In the Aug. 14 "Today's Blogs," Morgan Smith misspelled Sen. Barack Obama's first name.

In the Aug. 7 "Explainer," Juliet Lapidos stated that sunscreens with an SPF of 70 hit the marketplace for the first time this year, but Hawaiian Tropic has actually been producing such sunscreens since 2004. She also suggested that regularly reapplying sunscreen with an SPF of 2 would prevent sunburn. It would not.
