When you ask today's bride-to-be what she's looking for in a wedding photographer, you rarely hear that she wants someone who can take "great formal photos." She's generally seeking some combination of "photojournalistic" and "candid" shots. The abundance of pictures in magazines like Martha Stewart Weddings and InStyle Weddingsthat seem "photojournalistic" and unposed—at least to the untrained eye—are partly to blame. The trend has also been popularized by a handful of talented practitioners of what has become known as "wedding photojournalism."
