The YouTube Gotcha GameHow Web video could sink a presidential candidate or two.

No doubt in just a few years, wizened political consultants will sit around the conference table telling stories about the good old days. "It's hard to believe," they'll tell their protégés, "but there was a time when we didn't have to worry about every word the candidate says being filmed and uploaded." The youngsters will gasp in awe.

Campaign '08 will go down as the official start of the YouTube era in presidential politics. More than a year before any primary votes are cast, Web video is already playing a key role in the race.
