A Dec. 27 "Chatterbox" by Timothy Noah mistakenly said that, at a 1976 presidential debate, Jimmy Carter responded incredulously ("Did I understand you to say, sir … ") after Gerald Ford denied that the Soviet Union dominated Eastern Europe. The incredulous response came from Max Frankel of the New York Times, who'd posed the question.

In the Dec. 26 "Today's Blogs," Sonia Smith misidentified the location of James Brown's death. He died in Atlanta, Ga.

In a Dec. 22 "Blogging the Bible" entry, David Plotz incorrectly referred to the New Testament's "Book of Revelations." It is singular: the "Book of Revelation."

In a Dec. 22 "Hot Document" column, Bonnie Goldstein stated, incorrectly, that Brooke Astor's son Anthony Marshall was ordered by the New York Supreme Court to return $11 million to his mother. Marshall agreed as part of a settlement to return $11 million in cash and assets to his mother.
