In the July 31 "Fighting Words," Christopher Hitchens originally overstated the degree of support former White House spokesman Scott McClellan lent to his father after the latter wrote a book arguing that LBJ had murdered JFK.

In a July 31 "Explainer," Christopher Beam originally stated that one ounce of 80 proof liquor has the same alcohol content as 5 ounces of wine and 12 ounces of beer. The equivalent amount is 1.5 ounces of 80 proof alcohol.

In a July 28 "Explainer," Daniel Engber mistakenly identified Tollund Man as being from Norway. The body was found in Denmark.

In the July 27 "Big Idea," Jacob Weisberg incorrectly stated that the Foxwoods Casino is a shorter ride from New York City than Atlantic City is.
