John Roberts: The Missing Years

I'm surprised they didn't redact the word "Library."
This is outrageous. Presumably the "personal belongings" included briefcases. Of all the people who walk into a government archive, political appointees ought to be considered the MOST likely to walk off with something. (Remember Sandy Berger?) Yet they're given preferential treatment. The National Archives initially told reporters that the Bushies were NOT permitted to bring personal belongings into the room. That turned out to be incorrect.
Initially the National Archives also told reporters that the Bush White House employees weren't left alone. That turned out to be incorrect, too. You'd think archivists would be better at doing their research.
