Freddie Mac Gets Nailed

What's the point of denying that you consciously broke the law when the evidence is this overwhelming? Pride, I guess.

Weak alibi. The only legally permissable activities Freddie Mac is describing here would be parties thrown at political conventions and inaugural events. Nobody would spend this kind of dough just for that.
