A little dispute has broken out about who deserves what credit for the creation of podcasting. No, Al Gore is not involved. The most recognizable figure in the medium is Adam Curry, aka "The Podfather." Curry is a former MTV veejay who has been a podcasting evangelist for the last several years.
But Curry is not a computer programmer. And the man who created what's known as "RSS with enclosures," which makes podcasting possible, is Curry's former collaborator Dave Winer. But a May 2005 blog entry shows that Winer is fed up with what he sees as Curry hogging the limelight.
Marconi should be glad none of his colleagues had blogs.
