I feel compelled to elaborate on "wizards of Armageddon" because, as anyone who links to Walter Pincus' Post story will read, it is a reference to the title of a book that I wrote in 1983 about the small group of intellectuals who invented nuclear strategy. In both speeches, Gen. Lord (whom I have never met but who, clearly, must be a smart fellow) referred to the book and called for "new wizards of Armageddon."
