Rapper-producer Kanye West bagged 10 Grammy nominations today—the most of any artist—including nods for Best Album, Best Song, and Best New Artist. In February, Sasha Frere-Jones wrote that the "comedian, social critic, hedonist, and Christian" was the one man who could save hip-hop from eternal corniness.
