
In fact, Amazon did both, although in the opposite order that I expected. A couple of weeks after I set the target, the stock blasted through $400 en route to about $600. A couple of years later, it hit the split-adjusted equivalent of $50. At today's $36, the stock is trading at about $215 on the $400 split.
