 | Koolhaas has reportedly complained that a tight budget kept him from pushing his IIT design as far as he'd have liked. (The original included a two-lane bowling alley sheathed in glass and suspended over the cafeteria.) But the finished product is full of Koolhaasian verve. And it reflects his obsession with staying contemporary: With its oversized graphics and busy, even chaotic interior spaces, the building is pitched directly to the sensibilities of a generation raised on fast-paced media imagery. Koolhaas has done a remarkable job of channeling his inner 19-year-old. | |
