In an article about Liz Phair's new album, Mim Udovitch orginally misidentifed the song in which Diana Ross sang about starting life in a tenement. The song is "Love Child," not "I'm Livin' in Shame."

In the June 25 "Chatterbox" item, "How To Confirm O'Connor's Replacement," Timothy Noah failed to note that a quoted passage from Sen. Orrin Hatch's memoir, Square Peg, erroneously stated that Hatch was chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee in 1993. In fact, as the article now reflects, Hatch was ranking member of that committee. He became chairman in 1995.

In a "War Stories" column about missile tests, Fred Kaplan mistakenly said that the United States abrogated the Anti-Ballistic-Missile Treaty. In fact, it withdrew from the treaty. This "Explainer" discusses the difference.
