saddameter: The odds of war in Iraq.
Pitted DatesThe odds of war.
By William SaletanPosted Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at 1:24 PM ET

Chance of Invasion
Today: 99 percent
Angola, Cameroon, Chile, Guinea, Mexico, and Pakistan propose 45-day deadline. U.S. and Britain reject it but indicate some room for bargaining. U.S. plays up Iraqi resistance to latest U-2 overflight; Russia says it's no big deal. Japan, a major source of foreign aid, lobbies fence-sitters to support U.S. resolution. Bush's domestic political support for war grows stronger; Blair's remains weak.
