saddameter: The odds of war in Iraq.
ResolvedThe odds of war.
By William SaletanPosted Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at 5:05 PM ET

Chance of Invasion
Today: 98 percent
Washington Post says U.S. is telling Security Council diplomats its war decision "is already final." Blix calls new Iraqi weapons disclosures "positive," but Fleischer says they show Iraq lied and is stalling for time. Saddam says of missiles Blix told him to destroy, "We do not have missiles that go beyond the proscribed range." Mexican president urges Iraq to "immediately dismantle" the missiles. U.S. ambassador to France warns "we wouldn't look very kindly upon" a French veto of new U.N. war resolution. Haggling continues with Turkey, but deployment isn't in jeopardy. U.S. inflicts heaviest bombing in no-fly zones since November.
