Translating the Powell interview in Corriere Della Sera

The only responses from Secretary of State Colin Powell in his Jan. 27 interview in Corriere that could possibly be construed as saying that Saddam's weapons could be readied soon are reproduced below.

"I say again, there won't be war tomorrow, but the longer we wait, the more possibility there is that this dictator with clear ties to terrorist groups, including Al-Qaida, is providing them with arms and technology. Or that he will use them himself."

"It isn't a timing problem, it's a problem with telling the truth. Saddam Hussein continues to respond in an evasive manner and with lies. Saddam has to tell the truth, now."

"You want to know if we're asking ourselves will he use nuclear weapons? But he already has. Against Iran and against his own people. He had the weapons, he's used them, and he refuses to disarm. That's the point."
