Sniper Suspect Muhammad "Liked to Mingle"?

The ex-wife of sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad told MSNBC today that Muhammad "had a good sense of humor. He wasn't a quiet type. He liked to talk. He liked to mingle with people." On CNN.com, Muhammad's sister-in-law describes sniper suspect John Lee Malvo as "caring, respectful." A woman whose son attended school with Malvo told the Seattle Times, "My son said he was a nice kid." In 1999, David Plotz and Hanna Rosin explained why people say such trite things about mass murder suspects.
