Despite America's increasing respect for good design, a faction of contemporary furniture designers has been engaging in what would have to be called anti-design. One variety is playroom chic, inspired by '60s pop and defined by gratuitous curves, unsubtle colors, and/or aggressively novel shapes and textures.
