The Coors balls would be specially made at the factory, rather than having the Rockies tweak the standard product after it's finished. There are several ways to deaden a ball: winding the yarn a little less tightly, making the ball a little lighter, and varying the sizes and physical characteristics of the cork and rubber core elements. Using different types of yarn could also work.
