By Jack ShaferPosted Monday, April 1, 2002, at 11:34 AM ET
In this morning's New York Times, reporter Tim Golden cites U.S. officials who warn of an impending flood of heroin from Afghanistan ("U.S. Fears a Glut of Heroin From a Volatile Afghanistan," April 1).

Or it could be that some newspapers will publish anything the drug warriors hand them—and then publish it again and again. Graze, if you will, these headlines culled from a Nexis search of the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times dating back to 1988.
