Scottie Pippen's single most famous act came during a timeout in the final moments of a close playoff game. The coach designed a play in which another player--not Pippen--would take the game-deciding shot. So Pippen refused to go into the game. He chose to sit on the sidelines rather than play a supporting role. Pippen, being a famous athlete, was quickly forgiven by his coach. But try pulling a comparable stunt if you're a black teen with a minimum-wage job. See how forgiving your boss is.
