Birds of a Feather Fly Together
Posted Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at 7:15 PM ETDear Prudie,
I understand that you're jetting off tomorrow. Let my experience be a cautionary tale. Dozing off on the flight back to D.C., I awoke to a strangely familiar nasal voice. As I turned my head, I found myself staring up at none other than Alan Keyes. In his inimitable way, the ambassador was lecturing his children--who were sitting in my row--on the curvature of the earth. Even when addressing his kids, he gesticulates with kung fu swings. (I was secretly hoping that my flight would be delayed, because I would love to see Keyes suffer a bout of air rage. His anger is a thing of beauty to watch.) It's true, I think, this thing about birds of the feather flying together. Somehow I must have been booked mistakenly on Air Gomorrah--my flight included Keyes, Orrin Hatch, and Gary Bauer's advisers.
You tantalize me with your talk about dish. If you think that you can get away with dishing it out to an Italian newspaper first, face facts--it'll get back to me.
Licking the Bottom of the Pot,
Massa Honey
