I have discovered in my old age that the reason I have left a trail of Kleenexes in my wake my entire life is that I have allergies, and the reason I can't leave the house without going back for something I have forgotten is that I have ADD. So I am perfectly comfortable, in my new mode as an ADD-afflicted person, to blame the illness.
