Good afternoon

Based on the comments by the Indian and Pakistani reps on the Sunday talk shows, Clintonian diplomacy won't be doing much good on the subcontinent. Guess we'll have to send Newt over to clean up that mess. Clearly, those countries don't feel like having us hover over them in loco parentis any more than we welcomed the neutralist soothings of India during the Cold War. Nuke-tipped karmic payback.

As we go down to the wire in the Cal. primary, I wonder if the "paycheck protection" initiative, requiring unions to get each member's permission, yearly, to use a portion of the dues for political activity, is just part of a larger pattern of Republican payback: you Borked us, we'll bottle up your judges, you hounded Nixon out, we'll get Clinton, you unions almost spent as much as the corporations, we'll take away your funding base. Has this not been the main Republican agenda for the last half-dozen years: revenge?
