Arianna Huffington and Harry Shearer
Good morning, Harry. I noticed in the New York Times that George W. Bush, while professing not to be running for President, has reserved the rights to the website, "bush2000." Though I'm sure he's a capable guy, I think a better website might be "no_not_that_bush_the_other_one.com."
If I can scratch your itch again, I've been reading more about the Spectrum giveaway. It becomes clearer and clearer that the networks aren't even going to bother holding up their paltry end of the deal. Instead of hi-def TV, we'll just get more low-end programming. Which is great, because I--and, I'm sure, most of America--was despairing that there just wasn't enough Dateline on the air. With it already appearing seven days a week, the only way to get more of that cyborg Stone Phillips was either expand the days of the week--which I understand scientists at the Jet Propulsion Lab, in conjunction with NBC, are working on now--or expand the number of NBCs. Thanks to our brave senators, we'll now be able to watch Dateline 24 hours a day on NBC-1, NBC-2 and NBC-3.
