Dear Paula,

Grr. This always happens when we debate, err discuss, things. I started out expressing doubts about the "Teflon market" and now I'm being forced to defend it. Well, I have one last, cheap shot. On the basis of your fancy theories, you sold Microsoft two years ago--since then it has doubled and doubled again. If you weren't so smart, we'd be rich.

I love the story about the Berkeley Bar. But even better than listening to Monica's Story would be to savor Andrew Morton's real masterpiece, his hagiography of the African despot Mobutu. Or perhaps they could pipe in a mélange; a sentence on Diana, then Mobutu, then Monica. Three great, misunderstood people. What will Morton do next--The Many Faces of Michael Jackson?
