Beverly Hills is voting on whether all fur coats in the city must bear a powerfully worded warning. ("This product is made with fur from animals that may have been killed by electrocution, gassing, neck breaking, poisoning, clubbing, stomping or drowning and may have been trapped in steel-jaw leghold traps.") Two years ago, Slate's David Plotz confessed his desire for a Dalmatian fur coat and explained why that's not such a brutish idea after all.
