Kraft restricted Parcells' power to draft players. Parcells ended up quitting in disgust last winter, just after leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl. The NFL commissioner had to arbitrate Parcells' war with Kraft. Ultimately, the Jets were forced to give the Pats four draft choices to win Parcells' release from his Patriots contract. Jets owner Leon Hess has effectively given Parcells total authority over his team.
