
When Shaq entered the NBA, the 7-foot-1-inch, 330-pound mammoth was seen as threatening to the NBA's future because other galoomphing giants would follow, slowing the game down. Instead, Shaq has hurt the NBA because other galoomphing giants have not followed him. No center in the league has the size and strength to guard Shaq. The few centers who could slow him have retired or are about to. Besides Tim Duncan—whom Shaq abused last week—there's not a young center in the NBA or even in college who can prick Shaq.
