How Do Survivor II Losers Keep Their Ejection a Secret?

Although the Survivor II taping is already done, how come as people got sent home during the seven-week ordeal, it didn’t leak out that they didn’t make it?

A few local papers did get wind of the tail-between-their-legs homecomings of some of the contestants on the original Survivor. To prevent that this time, losing contestants agreed to hang around for the entire duration of filming. CBS also made all contestants sign a stringent confidentiality agreement not to reveal the outcome before the final show’s broadcast. (The network wouldn’t say if it was stringent in the taking-of-first-born, severing-of-limbs sense or just in the we’ll-sue-you sense.)
