Clinton on the Web: An Update

Three months ago, Chatterbox wrote a Slate "Net Election" column inquiring about the fate of the White House Web site, which Chatterbox found to be much more accessible to the public than either the Thomas Web site for Congress or the bricks-and-mortar White House that stands half a dozen blocks from Chatterbox's office. Writing in the Financial Times on Dec. 22, Stephen Fidler provided an answer: The Clinton White House Web documents will be removed to www.clinton.nara.gov, which will go live on Inauguration Day. The Bush White House Web site, fittingly, will be largely blank on that same day. Rumors that Clinton documents will be replaced on the White House Web site with documents from the Ford administration have it slightly wrong. The Clinton documents will be replaced by new documents written by people who formerly worked in the Ford administration.
