Burnt Bacon?

Earlier today (11:40 a.m. ET), Chatterbox spotted Assistant Defense Secretary Kenneth Bacon walking out of the law offices of Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky at 2101 L Street, NW, biting his lower lip, wearing his usual bow tie.

Retaining a lawyer perhaps?

Bacon, as you know, has apologized for not checking with Linda Tripp's attorneys before leaking information from her personnel file to The New Yorker's Jane Mayer. Tripp is the Pentagon employee who tape-recorded Monica Lewinsky's accounts of a sexual relationship with President Clinton. Lewinsky worked for Bacon at the Pentagon following her stint at the White House as an intern.

Bacon's office declined comment, and Bacon has yet to return Chatterbox's phone calls.
