Dan Quayle guested last night on the special edition of Larry King Live commemorating the 15th anniversary of Crossfire. In the live broadcast, a North Carolina caller phoned in to tell the former vice president, "Mr. Quayle, all the people who said you were stupid, I agree with them a hundred percent."

"That's a Crossfire kind of call, Dan," King retorted.

The exchange was purged from the tape-delayed broadcast later that evening, but survives in the show's transcript.
