Description

ANTIQUE FRENCH TEAPOT The French call this “Le Pot du Te Especial,” and it’s a beauty: hand-cast of solid Corinthian silver and authenticated by famous antique experts in a big office. Note the delicate lines, the way the spout comes right out of the bulgy part, the handle’s supreme graspability. Liquids (hot or cold!) can be placed directly inside, and by a simple inversion of the pot’s uprightitude, discharged or “poured” into a cup, glass, or even another teapot. Not that you’re likely to find another like this! This beauty has been in my family since the late 1600s and has been handed down with loving care from father to son to son to son to daughter to son, then to a cousin for safekeeping during the war, then back to a son to a son to a son. Hate to let it go but am moving to an efficiency apartment and must let go some precious heirlooms. I think Grandmom would understand. Or as the dedicated craftspersons who lovingly fabricated this delightful and precious heirloom might say: “Tres muy!” Payment must be received within 10 days of the end of the auction, $3.50 shipping and handling to be paid by winning bidder, insurance extra.
