  • Limited Imagination?

It's all pretty much summed up in your last paragraph. You said, '' I regret I couldn't make Goldie happy...'' Sounds to me like the problem was that Goldie couldn't make YOU happy. You said, '' but since he's been gone the feeling of dread I lived with for years has been lifted.'' I wonder how Goldie feels...oh, yeah, he's dead. You said, ...

  • There were never any saber-toothed tigers

This article on accuracy was not well researched. There is no such animal as a ''saber-toothed tiger.'' The reference should be to a ''saber-toothed cat.''

  • political limerick

My cat's former colleague, Mr.A.Cat, sent this limerick to us for publishing wherever we please. He's a fan of the politics: A Hillary Cat likes to be best candidate on your tv it's most consequential to seem presidential with nary a tick or a flea.

  • Excessive pet care

My 15-year old cat suddenly dropped weight, and I took him to the veterinarian. He is now on thyroid medicine, prednisolone, and an appetite enhancing drug. He doesn't like the drugs, which I had been mixing into his food, so he stopped eating and lost more weight. The vet and the vet tech advised me to give him the meds in a way not connected ...

  • It comes down to Quality of Life

I've lost two cats in the last year. You tell me if you think I did the right thing in each case. Isis was a rescue we'd had for about 5 years. She'd been an Only Cat, and had a hard time adapting to our other cats, but eventually settled in. When she was about 12, she started getting thin. We took her to the vet and he did blood, stool and urine ...

  • Cat hater

Since the husband is not a cat person (although he said pets not just cats) and has lived with them for 12 years i agree with Prudie to some degree. However, I understand the wifes problem with this. Might I suggest that she volunteer with a local cat rescue group? Lots of them need people to come to area pet stores where they house cats ...

  • Re: Prudence Advice to Cat Lover right on

Declawing is only ''okay'' (and even then barely) when a cat would be otherwise euthanized. Therefore, I suggest adopting a stray from a pound that is already de-clawed. If declawing ''is really not such a bad thing'' I'd like to see the writer have the tops of his fingers chopped off to the first knuckle. Because that's what de-clawing is ...

  • Cat Hater

Not sure if agree with the cat hater advice. The writer and her daughter were understandably saddened greatly by the death of their cats, and the writer's husband's comments were callous and insensitive. I don't see why he should be rewarded for his bad behavior. The bottom line is that yes, he doesn't like cats, and yes, he has a right to a ...
