  • An intriguing interpretation ...

and the more of them, the better. 'imho, of course.' I read the forgotten dream line differently; I took it to mean the Lothario in question forgets each woman he's discarded, as easily as one can forget a dream, even one experienced just a few minutes before awakening. To me, the poem remains bland, overly long & flatly (non-rhythmically) ...

  • "Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose ..."

i refer, of course, to the knee-jerk, unthinking mass adoration of Candidate/Senator Obama on these 'pages' during the 2008 campaign. But I do think he is doing better than you think, my friend. The ever-worsening deficit situation is the main exception to that opinion. That's got me worried, hugely so. ''Be well,' mon ami du longtemps. C/t.

  • Re: classified ads/personal

Well-done, i.t. Best line, ''happy in my body.'' :-) (''long-term (but not lifetime)'') is v. good, too. Hope you have seen NoStar's limerick thread about the posted poem? Bet you could contribute something excellent & apt to it. C/t.

  • Shades of days of yore ...

''Ooh la la, brouhaha!'' as my sister T. was wont to say. Do you think you are actually being dictated to or censored? Seems to read that way. Well-said, mister D. C/t. p.s. I just posted two lim'ricks to NoStarryBoy's Top Post, fyi.

  • + 10,

I like them both but am leaning more toward the second one. Put a capital L on Lothario, I think. Sis

  • From the female point of view:

(Agree with you & bottomfish, the posted poem is far too long & far too prosy, imho.) That said, ''Why darlin', I do know that fellow He thinks he's so charming & mellow I dated him twice He wasn't that nice & his guts? Very tiny & yellow.'' If anyone can come up with a better closing line using ''bellow,'' please ...

  • "imho, of course..." plus,

is it actually possible that NO ONE has posted the classic (awful) ROTFLMAO? (I don't see it on here ...) and of course, ''Did you forget to take your meds today?'' Two from the goaz: ''Hello, Idiot'' and ''irony alert.'' And the also-classic, ''Please see your e-mail.'' Et finalement, ''comme toujours, ton amie fidele.'' p.s. I don't ...

  • O.T. Memo: To Urquhart ...

from: ''Connie'' Who do you favor in the Belmont? I was going to lay some money down on Rachel Alexandra, actually, but then they decided not to run her (do you know why?) Guess I am just a pro-woman 'sexist' at heart -- perhaps in the same way that your right-wing colleagues are calling Judge Sonia Sotomayor a ''reverse racist?'' I even like ...
