Teabaggers look like White KKK rednecks

What we had out there was a bunch of white racists. I even saw signs saying they were coming next time with their guns and rope. You know, white racist like nothing better than a good lynching and a cross burning. Keeps them warm at night.

Way to make a blanket statement about tens of thousands of people based on a small fringe element.

More like, "Way to make a blanket statement about a large group, based on the loud and obvious behaviour of that large group". You can't judge a book by it's cover, but you can do a damn good job of judging a book cover from it's cover. No one is judging you. We are observing the people who were actually at the Tea Bag Rebellion. If you don't like how they represented you, you should take it up with them.

Is it better to have people make blanket statements about millions of people with no evidence what so ever? We have teabaggers calling Obama a communist. We have people on the fray calling all of the 66 million who voted for Obama all sorts of names. We have all been classified as "slackers" in a post made yesterday. We've had the right wingers make the claim that all Obama supporters have been duped by the media. We have a picture of Obama that is way past defending....here ya go.

If you'd like to say that Lyndon Larouche is not a racist....ok.

Re: Teabaggers look like White KKK rednecks

I was there and calling millions of people racist is like me calling all of you leftists unpatriotic. It is obvious that the left is scared that there is a movement afoot that is going to usher your people out of Washington. Try to paint them as racists, morons and underestimating the number at the march are obvious tactics you are trying to use. It won't work. Cogress will be neutered in 2010 and ushered out of office in 2012.

I wasn't a part of the rally, not my pals, on Saturday but I was in D.C. all day working at the Library of Congress, around the Mall, and I rode the the Metro with the protestors in the morning at 7am and when some were heading home around 5-6pm. I'm not much for blanket statements but the vast majority of those that I saw - let's say 5000 or so - were espousing racist, hateful, and generally unpatriotic stuff. I did not personally see one non-white, non-middle aged (aside from the kids being dragged along) protestor. Considering that the Metro is a pretty good cross-section of those that were out there, I don't think the comment is far off. Being that I'm retired from the military (2006) I didn't take any more kindly to the President being represented as Adolf Hitler any more than I did when Bush was President. And I did say something to at least a dozen folks in the Metro car I was riding. It was a civil discourse but they were no more willing to stop the comparison than I was to allow it. Free speech. But, the problem is that you cannot be a part of a demonstration that has that atmosphere and stand by, as a participant, and just say that 'It's not me, it's them." That's horribly disingenuous and at some point will become dangerous.

There's plenty of details in whatever policy decisions we disagree upon. Those are the meat of what scares people and that should be the focus.

Saintex, I dont usually respond in detail to the libtards on here because they are so extreme why bother. But I do detect some moderation in your post so here goes.

What you say and what the mainstream media says are of no relevance. We dont care what they say. What is relevant is that over the last few months there have been 1000's of tea party protests all over the country. The DC protest just being one. i would think that the politicians will find out how real these protests are in 2010 and the left will lose its power.

I rode the metro also this weekend and didnt see anything close to what you describe. You really get unbelievable when you put unpatriotic in to the mix. There were quite a few young people in their 30's and 40's there. It was a primarily white crowd, (a few blacks scattered in)because these people feel this President does not represent them in any way and in fact is working to screw them anyway he can.. He favors minorities, Unions, and large corporations such as GE who contribute large funds for his election. He also favors the far left financier George Soros and his various left wing one world government organizations such as Media Matters and Moveon.org both of which spew hate speech on a daily basis. He recently loaned tax payer money (2 billion) to a Brazilian company for them to start offshore oil drilling. Oh byh the way, Soros is a major stockholder in that company and has over 600K share of stock he just purchased in the 2nd Q 2009. Will he allow our oil companies to drill offshore? Of course not. He will put coal miners out of business and our energy situation is one crisis away from shutting our country down.

Let's face it. The Far Left will call anyone who opposes Obama a racist. That is what they do and you seem to go along with that tactic. They have been playing the race game forever. They look at people as voting blocks. We no longer listen nor do we care what they say. We know who we are and that is hard working people who love America and don't want it to become Denmark or France. We value the individual not voting blocks based on race, sec, or whatever. The idea that because BO has slightly darker skin than many of us do is the reason we oppose him is just so simplistic it defies words to

BO is trying to destroy our healthcare sytem, which we think is very good and needs reform but not total destruction. The House bill adds 52 government agencies or programs and will increase our defit significantly. The purpose of this bill is to transfer healthcare from those now receiving Medicare to other groups now uninsured and to increase government control over 17% of our economy. The govt has bankrupted SS, Medcare , and medicaid already. Now they want more programs to bankrupt. Do some research and check out the waiting lines and healthcare rationing in Great Britain and Canada. NO , No, NO, NO!!!!!!!

BO wants to implement carbon taxes to make sure he can exert more control over the private sector and further hurt our economy. Not to mention raise the utility costs and other products made from chemical, etc. He has allowed Congress to highjack the omnibus and stimulus bills with thousands of earmarks and come up with a .bill rewarding his campaign backers and special interest groups, Every govt agency was asked for a wish list which was approved. No sign of help for those unemployed. Handing GM and Chrysler to the UNions and basically engineering a takeover of these companies and seemingly endless bailouts to them, AIG, etc. Now he is allied with General Electric and NBC (media cheerleader) . For the cheerleading of NBC, General Electric is to be given priority for handling cap and trade transactions as well as green energy related contracts from the stimulus plan.

BO and the Dems support a corrupt organization in ACORN and his giving them a role in the census. They have been under indictment in 14 states for voter fraud and billions of $ have been earmarked to them from the stimulus bill. Not investigating the NEW Black Panther or ACORN for voter intimidation and fraud but investigating the CIA who have tried to keep us safe is very troubling. I dont think waterboarding is torture but even if I thought it was if it saved American lives it was worth it. Instead of thinking that America is an exceptional country , BO always finds a way to apologize for the USA ;overseas. He thinks we are a mean country as Michelle stated during the campaign. His apparent siding with the Palestinians vs Isael is also troubling.

· BO told us to judge him by the company he keeps.

he keeps proving that he is an extreme radical leftist by supporting the Honduras leader who tried to become another Hugo Chavez. Next he hires czars which are extreme communist , socialist , and/or Marxist. Mark :Lloyd =Diversity Czar—Marxist who admires the way Chavez has shut down opposition media in Venezuala. It is suspected that he would like to shut down talk radio using diversity as a weapon to shut down radio stations carrying conservative talk radio. Seems fascist to us.

· Van Jones=Green Job Czar—self avowed communist who is a 9/11 truther and who speaks of white people poisoning and killing blacks in their communities. Was active in directing 500 million in stimulus funds to green entities.

· John Holdren=Science Czar—Radical ivy leaguer who has written about controlling population by forced abortion and mass sterilization. Views capitalism as an economic system that is harmful to the environment. Thinks we need to de-develop the USA to conserve energy and facilitate growth in underdeveloped countries.

· Cass Sunstein=Regulatory Czar—Marxist who writes it is doubtful that free speech is adequately serving democratic needs. Believes that animals should be allowed to sue people in court . Hunting and guns should be banned. Animals for food should also be banned.

On the good side, I give him credit for trying to win in Afgan and is handling Iraq better than I thought he would. He did well when that captain of one of our ships was taken hostage by pirates and also the journalists taken prisoner in N.Korea.

But in summary there is deep philosophical divide between the tea party protesters and BO. One which I dont think can ever be bridged. The emotion is boiling over and will still be there in 2010.

oldman,

We no doubt disagree on policy issues and on the tone of the protestors. I would have come up with something longer but once you state that waterboarding is not torture we have nothing left in common. I went through survival school in the military, I retired in 2006, and to even think that waterboarding isn't torture is beyond me.

Re: Thank you saintex....

for your service, AND for standing up to the cretin's! And most especially, against torture..it is Unamerican, it is Wrong...and I'm pretty sure that's why we executed Japanese Officers after the WW II, for waterboarding! I believe folks have known it really doesn't work since..oh, say the Spanish Inquisition!
Re: Teabaggers look like White KKK rednecks

Saintex, If you served, thank you! I was in the Navy.

While I'm sure waterboarding isnt exactly the most pleasant experience of their life, once the cloth was taken off, they are perfectly fine and aware. The far left are so adament that it is torture becasue their hatred of Bush borders on insanity. They want him tried as a war criminal and this is the way they think they can make that happen.

While consistently implying they intend to investigate and and prosecute not only those Americans who carried out orders to employ waterboarding, but also those who merely expressed an opinion (shared by many) that waterboarding is legal in the context it was used, the Democrat congress could express their outrage by passing legislation to expressly ban the practice tomorrow. Why haven't they? Because most Americans (and I expect that, privately, most Democrats in Congress) really don't want to abandon the practice. When the clock is ticking on the crude nuclear device planted in an unknown populated area and the government lays hands on someone who knows where the device is, waterboarding is the very least onerous method we can expect will be used to extract whatever information is necessary to save the lives of innocent civilians.

I wrote the long post because I thought you might be a reasonable person that might at least understand why there is so much public outcry about Obama's policies. Implying the protesting is all about race is a simplistic democrat talking point. Instead you decide to take one minor part of my post to make a point that I am too unreasonable for further discourse. I think that shows that I was wrong about your tone of moderation.

Re: Teabaggers look like White KKK rednecks

If water boarding is not torture then why is it forbidden by military rules as an interrogation technique as well as the Geneva convention? Why was a sherrif and three of his deputies sent to jail for using that technique?

It is torture and if not careful the interrogator will end up with a dead prisoner. The cloth pushed down someone's throat would cause them to inhale water. If you don't think that harms your lungs try inhaling a quart of water and see how you feel.

Re: Japanese soldiers/officer where executed for war crimes.

for waterboarding...the Chinese Water TORTURE!! Dah! Whether it harms your lungs or not..it is torture by any civilized or human measure...just cause you ain't dead or mamed....is not the "bottom line"! When were you taught that the Ends always justify's the means?? How very unAmerican!
Re: Teabaggers look like White KKK rednecks
by oldmanriver

My definition of torture is simple: It involves physical or mental abuse that leaves lasting scars. Cutting off fingers, toes, limbs – that would be torture. Forcing prisoners to play Russian roulette – that would be torture. Sticking hot pokers in the eyes of prisoners – that would be torture. But a few seconds of dripping water on a prisoner's face with a dr present? That's not torture to me. Especially if it is a situation where the guy knows how to stop a mass murdering terrorist from taking out a city. And these were the circumstances surrounding the water boarding that was done on Khalid Sheik Muhammad. I would rather have someone in charge who understands making a prisoner feel uncomfortable for a few minutes is justified if it would save many lives. What would you say if terrorists were holding your son/daughter/parent or wife hostage and our soldiers have a prisoner who knows where they are? I doubt if you would mind a little waterboarding in that situation.

Re: Teabaggers look like White KKK rednecks

1. We have already convicted people for waterboarding. Are you now willing to admit that it is torture? If not, why is it against the rules laid out in the army field manual? Why is it against the Geneva convention?

2. "the guy knows hot to stop a mass murdering terrorist from taking out a city".....really? That is what you think happened? If so then Cheney would be bragging about it and he isn't.

Experts say there are better ways to interrogate people and that the interrogations of KSM did not reveal anything more once waterboarding started. The FBI interrogater who had KSM before the water boarding started disagrees with you.

3. A few drops of water? If you don't know what waterboarding is just admit it.
