own longstanding rule and say to the "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil" crowd here----I told you so. I opined to MaryAnn on her true identity a few weeks ago, in fact, when it became clear to me that Denny was trying to tweak the noses of the regulars by attempting to glean praise and (he hoped) a checkmark here as he had before, with alternic poses, this time in the guise of an Englishwoman, "Gretchen Ryan". Denny even won the cheap thrill of engaging Mr. Pinsky himself as "Gretchen", Pinsky having no way to know better, while also buttering up Pinsky as himself, even as Denny's enablers continued then and since, to suborn his overall conduct by casting him as an unduly maligned victim.
Bad frauds become evident because of their overeagerness to inject verisimilitude into their "spontaneous" conversation. Denny-Gretchen seemed compelled to mention what time it was "across the pond", and to utter non sequitur banalities like "There goes a Lorry (what we call trucks)" and "Stephen Gerrard is a footballer who plays for Liverpool F.C." Frauds also cannot ever leave well enough alone, hence the overextensions and lies which proved his undoing long after plausible deniability was exhausted. There still appears to be no official public acknowledgement of Denny's recent serial plagiarisms, but in the end justice is served.
