USA Spends $700 Billion/yr on Foreign Oil. Horse Manure.

The ads, meant to give the impression that a liberal US government would have enough extra cash to be Super Santa and fund "Liberal Heaven on Earth" if we'd just quit blowing all of our cash on foregin oil...giving it to countries that hate us. The fact is, the US government doesn't by a dime's worth of oil. The BIG oil companies and their refineries do. They are the ones that foot the 700 billion/yr price tag,...not the US government. Thank god for the oil companies and some real cash. The United States government couldn't afford a 700 billion yearly oil bill. Notice the whining and bitching over 450 billion for the 5+ year war in Iraq. 90< billion/yr. 700 is too far over the top. Oh I suppose you can shut down the oil companies and their drilling providing they don't get fed up with liberal kookdom and shut it down themselve first, but you won't get a cent of the 700 billion. That isn't USA government money,...that is BIG OIL money.

I said many years ago on this forum, that all the country needed is TWO oil company men in the White House.

NOW LOOK WHAT WE HAVE!

Bush/Cheney in the pocket of big business oil.

What would you expect?

Anwar would, in maybe 9 to 10 years provide 1 to 3 million barrels all together. The off shore drilling leases would take more energy to pump the deep water...deep in the earth, poor quality oil which would also take ...6-7 years to get up off the bottom, and then up outa about 30 to 50 thousand feet under the sea bottom. And one brought to surface? How will it be tranported and to what refinery?? Meanwhile, the current world wide capacity to pump and transport and refine oild is 84 million barrels a day....the demand, worldwide as of 2006 was 86 million barrels a day. SO the MATH! The reason that oil/gas prices have been reduced recently?? Major reason is the 3% drop in U.S. usage (the amount that would be taken up in Anwar..in 10 years all together) and Big Oils fear that their could be a drop in Oil welfare and subsidies with a Democratic Congress and White House...but MORE then anything, it is the dropping U.S. use of energy, particularly gas.

The republicans have nothing else left.

They will push for drilling in the United States even if it makes no sense.

Pitiful, isn't it?

How about this?

Actually it's 26 million barrels/day. Notice your Messiah wants to release 70 million barrels out of the strategic reserve. Enough for almost 3 days. You don't want to drill,...fine,...don't drill. The next time you want to go somewhere get dressed, grab your keys, get in your car,...and wait until somebody comes up with your alternative fuel source. 100 years from now America will still be 85% oil dependent.

Although that isn't T. Boone's or the government numbers...SOOO Next time YOU want to go somewhere..run out, get on your bike, or your fuel efficient car..or GASP! ride the bus or the train...or EVEN WORSE...walk...to your destination....shove your Hummer or gas gusseling SUVor pick'em up truck up your collective anus while you are at it.....read again, it will cost MORE to pump the oil outa 20 thousand ft of sea water, and another 30 to 50 thousand feet below the bottom of the sea...or 3 million barrels outa Anwar...at current consumption rates..that YOU gave US would have consumed 260 million barrels....want to talk about you 'drop in the bucket"! If U.S. cut's it's consumption..the price will fall further! With a 3% drop in consumption in May...the price per barrel is down $30 + dollars.
