If I predict that computers all over the world will go haywire unless a bug is fixed, and computers don't go haywire anywhere... either everybody in every place in the world actually made the fix in every computer, or my prediction was total nonsense... Y2k was a goldmine for consultants and an opportunity for CIOs to upgrade software, but nine years later, nobody with a scintilla of common sense believes that it wasn't 99% hype. Assuming this wasn't actually an April Fools column, the gullibility displayed is incredible....
