Ari Berman has a good write-up of today's oversight hearing with Elizabeth Warren, the special advisor to the (not yet active!) Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Jamelle Bouie has more, including the detail that most confused me -- freshman Rep. Ann-Marie Buerkle (salary $170,000) asking why some CFPB salaries started at $70,000. Me? I have video of the meltdown that ended the hearing, as subcommittee chairman Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-NC, accused Warren of lying about the timing of the hearing to wiggle out of it.
