Jimmy McMillan, whose fame as a New York-based political anger-puppet has somehow outlasted Carl Paladino's, returns as the spokesman for... a Tea Party pro-oil exploration campaign.

People were somewhat surprised when McMillan took his act to CPAC, but it all makes sense now. The GITDH campaign is a project of Let Freedom Ring, the Delaware-based conservative think tank that adopted the Tea Party very early on in 2009, and has subsequently planned events like a day in which supporters pledged to read the Constitution aloud at rallies. Promotion for the campaign is being handled by Hamilton Strategies , which has also worked for Focus on the Family, the Heritage Foundation, and the ex-gay group Exodus International.
