The truest sign that Lucas Baiano's fast-cutting, hyper-dramatic ads for Pawlenty have "made it."

Note the appearance of Katy Perry and the exploding psychic from Scanners; not, too, just how easily the shaky man-talking-at-podium effect has been recreated.

Why is Pawlenty's ad style parodied while similar videos from Sarah Palin and the RGA (the latter also by Baiano) were just remarked upon for a day or two? It's almost too obvious -- it's the contrast between the candidate and the style.
