Donald Trump Seems Jealous That Hillary Clinton Got to See Adele In Concert

British superstar Adele is at the center of the rigged system that’s conspiring to keep Donald Trump out of the White House, the candidate implied on Wednesday.

While Trump was posing for photos at his Miami resort on Tuesday and traveling to Washington, D.C. for the ceremonial opening of his gaudy new hotel, Hillary Clinton celebrated her 69th birthday at an Adele concert, landing the singer’s coveted endorsement in a personal shout-out from the stage. It’s not right, Trump told George Stephanopoulos in an ABC News interview on Wednesday, that Clinton was allowed to have a fun night on the town while he caught flak for using campaign press to promote his own businesses.

“I think it’s so unfair because, you know, Hillary Clinton goes to see an Adele concert last night, and everybody says, ‘Oh, wasn’t that nice. Isn’t that wonderful?’” Trump said. (To be fair, it was nice and wonderful, because Adele’s music is nice and wonderful. Trump hotels are neither nice nor wonderful.) “I did eight stops yesterday—three major rallies where, I told you, 25 and 15 and 20 and thousands of people. I did three, plus many other stops.”

Trump, a confirmed Adele fanboy, seemed miffed that his responsibilities as a businessman with many big, beautiful properties kept him from making just one more stop, at Adele’s Miami show. That would have been a nice chance to relax and rejuvenate, which is a nice-to-have for Trump but a need-to-have for no-stamina Clinton: “She goes, she does one stop because she has no energy,” Trump told Stephanopoulos. “She’s got nothing going. She does one stop. And nobody complains about that. Nobody complains when she goes to an Adele concert all night long, while I’m making two speeches at rallies with, you know, massive crowds.” How typical of a person with no energy, to stay out all night at a concert! A concert featuring one of the most emotionally draining performers of our time!

When Stephanopoulos asked Trump what he’d tell people who think he should be campaigning for the presidency, not TripAdvisor ratings, in swing states, Trump was aghast. “I built one of the great hotels of the world. What am I supposed to do, not show up?” the candidate said. “I’m going to North Carolina right after this. Then I’m going back down to Florida. I’m going up to New Hampshire. I’m all over the place. But I can’t take one hour off to cut a ribbon at a one of the great hotels of the world? I mean, I think I’m entitled to it.”

Last November, Trump thought he was entitled to cut the entire line of Adele fans waiting to attend her New York City concert, too. That was before she started making him the butt of her onstage banter and gushing over Clinton. Now, it seems, he’s let his jealousy get the best of him. Take Adele’s advice, Donald, and let it go. You both know you ain’t kids no more.
